Type: Dive Whitsundays
Minimum Price: AUD $ 649 Departing Monday & Friday at 8am for a 3 day/2 night scuba diving adventure. Kiana, a magnificent, 16.4 metre (60 foot) ketch was built in the 1990's to meet the needs of the most demanding guest as a comfortable sailing vessel and as a liveaboard dive boat. Kiana's design boasts an elegance of line and excellent efficiency under sail. In addition, her diesel power ensures ample inter-island speed if the wind drops. Time is never wasted as Kiana takes you to the main attractions of The Whitsundays...diving and snorkeling, bays and beaches, cliffs and coves.........and Bait Reef. The Skipper, Hostess and Dive Instructor will ensure you enjoy the best of both worlds, sailing and diving by day and great food and a relaxed atmosphere in the evenings. Bait Reef: Recently added to Kiana's itinerary, Bait Reef is a prime destination in the outer reefs of the Whitsunday Islands. Bait Reef is completely protected from all types of fishing and is therefore rich with fascinating marine life of all types. A natural lagoon provides vessels with a safe haven for overnight anchorage. Bait Reef also provides an abundance of varied diving sites which make it a paradise for both scuba diving and snorkelling alike. Whale Watching: During June through September each year vast number of whales migrate from Antarctica to the Whitsundays to give birth to calves and mate. The most common whale that you will see during this period are Humpbacks although occasionally other types such as Minkies can be spotted. Whitehaven Beach: The famed Whitehaven Beach has been named one of the most gorgeous, unspoiled topical locations on Earth. Spend an afternoon beachcombing or sunbathing on the white, silica sand that seems to stretch on forever. Explore the many private coves and inlets and discover a walking trail that leads to a stunning look out point. Hill Inlet and Whitsunday National Park: A sailing excursion aboard the Kiana includes a guided bush walk through the spectacular Whitsunday National Park. Learn something new and interesting about the Aboriginal culture and this historically rich area. A visit to Hill Inlet will offer a look-out where the vistas can only be described as breathtaking.
Hook Island: Possibly the best diving and snorkeling location in the Whitsundays, the north end of Hook Island offers something for the beginning diver as well as the expert. Visit sites like Luncheon Bay and Mackerel Bay which provide ideal spots for first time divers to witness the diverse marine life that inhabit these warm waters. See the vibrant, coral fringing reefs that blanket the ocean floor.
