Whitsunday
Passage is a 40 foot cruiser that was built in 1988 specifically for
competing in Australia's Bicentennial celebration. Built in Victoria,
Whitsunday Passage was outfitted right in Airlie Beach by Leon and Judy
O'Donoghue who helped set up the very first charter boat company in the
Whitsundays. This comfortable vessel has been offering exciting
adventures in the Whitsundays ever since. She is a modified Adams 40, a racer/cruiser.
After this long race she was "retired" back to Airlie Beach where the present owner purchased her as a perfect cruising boat. Some modifications were made, mostly to increase comfort, but all the "extras" not found on a normal bareboat (radar, boom brake etc) were retained or upgraded. She is now in skippered charter and is particularly suited as a training boat for anyone considering cruising or racing.
