Trip Itinerary



Day 1: Sydney to Coffs Harbour: Meet your Contiki crew, enjoy a brief city sightseeing tour before crossing the Harbour Bridge and travelling along the scenic 'holiday coast' to Coffs Harbour. Resort 

Day 2: Coffs Harbour to Surfers Paradise: To Byron Bay with plenty of time to relish this arty town. Then in to Queensland, the Sunshine State, to see Australian wildlife at Currumbin before continuing along the Gold Coast, Australia's most popular holiday area, to Surfers Paradise. Hotel (B)

Day 3: Surfers Paradise: A full day free to enjoy the famous beaches, try a mix of adventures and revel in the nightlife! Hotel 

Day 4: Surfers Paradise to Farmstay: In to the modern city of Brisbane this morning for some free time. After lunch we head along the fertile farming lands of the Darling Downs to the edge of Queensland's Outback and our unique Aussie 'Farmstay' experience. Farmstay (B,D)

Day 5: Farmstay to Fraser Island: After a hearty breakfast we travel to the Sunshine Coast to visit Noosa with free time for a swim and shopping before continuing onto one of nature's greatest wonders, Fraser Island. Eco Lodge (B,D)

Day 6: Fraser Island: A full day free to explore the world's largest sand island known for its unusual fresh water lakes, the tropical rainforest and beautiful beaches. Eco Lodge 

Day 7: Fraser Island to Capricorn Coast: Return to the mainland and travel along the Capricorn Coast into the heart of Australia's beef industry to the garden city of Rockhampton, the gateway to the Tropics. Hotel (B)

Day 8: Capricorn Coast to the Whitsundays: Travel through the sugar cane fields via Mackay to Airlie Beach, gateway to the Whitsunday Islands. Head across to beautiful Long Island for the next 3 nights. Resort (B,D)

Day 9: Whitsundays: A free day at leisure on this tropical paradise island. Relax on the beach, enjoy the water sports, maybe venture to the outer Great Barrier Reef. Resort 

Day 10: Whitsundays to Uluru: Today we fly from the Whitsundays to Alice Springs via Cairns. From Alice we travel across the Finke River, the oldest river in the world, to a traditional Roadhouse before continuing the scenic drive through the outback to Uluru and the Yulara Resort. Lodge 

Day 11: Uluru: Up early to see the mixed colours of Uluru's sunrise, the adventurous will have time to walk around or climb the famous Rock. Later we visit Kata Tjuta (The Olgas). Lodge (B)

Day 12: Uluru to Kings Creek Station: Visit Kings Creek Station with free time to experience a working camel station. Tonight, sleep under the stars in true outback style. Outback bush camp (B,D)

Day 13: Kings Creek Station to Alice Springs: Today visit Kings Canyon with free time to explore the picturesque area. Later, we return to Alice Springs. Maybe join us for dinner tonight to try outback delicacies like crocodile and emu. Hotel (B)

Day 14: Alice Springs: Free time this morning for a hot air balloon flight before taking in the local sights of Alice Springs. We'll visit the Flying Doctor Base, ANZAC Hill Lookout and the original Alice Springs Telegraph Station before saying a final farewell this afternoon.
