The Whitsunday Islands (Airlie Beach) are located in North Queensland, and is one of the most popular Queensland destinations. We are easily accessible by land and air... Our two local airports are Whitsunday Coast (Proserpine) and Hamilton Island. Both Virgin Blue, Jetstar and Qantas have daily flights to either of these domestic airports. Whitsunday Coast (Proserpine) Airport is situated around 30kms from Airlie Beach. Once you have arrived at the airport, taxi or local bus transfers are available with Whitsunday Transit for a small cost. Transfers operate between Shute Harbour, Airlie Beach, Cannonvale, Proserpine and Whitsunday Coast Airport. Coaches will pick-up and deliver passengers door-to-door but booking is essential (48 hours prior to arrival). Hamilton Island Airport is situated on Hamilton Island, a short ferry ride from Shute Harbour, Airlie Beach. Cost will be $37 per person with Fantasea and you will then have to board a Whitsunday Transit bus which will deliver you to Airlie Beach for a small cost. Cruise Whitsundays also operate ferry transfers for $49 per adult or $27 per child to abel Point Marina in Airlie Beach. Coach transfers are available to your accomodation. JetStar: JetStar flies daily into the Whitsunday Coast from Brisbane, and into Hamilton Island from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide.
